Caglieron Caves

In Breda di Fregona, in the Treviso Pre-Alps, the Caglieron stream has carved a deep gorge through rock and greenery over thousands of years. A trail of walkways and little bridges leads visitors past waterfalls, potholes and natural caves.

Alongside the natural caves are old man-made quarries, where sandstone was extracted from the 16th century onwards. In summer it’s a cool oasis, in winter it fills with icicles: an easy and surprising outing that children love too.
