In San Vito di Altivole, in the countryside between Castelfranco and Asolo, lies one of the masterpieces of 20th-century architecture: the Brion Memorial, designed by Carlo Scarpa for the Brion family. Concrete, water, light and plants weave together in a meditative garden full of symbols, such as the two interlocking circles at the entrance.

Today it is cared for by FAI – the Italian National Trust – and can be visited independently or on a guided tour on several days a week. Check opening times and booking details on the FAI website before you go, and combine it with Asolo and Possagno.
